new tire question
ok i've been runnin on the same tires for like over a year..the front are getting bald but the back are fine, this is a 98 civic coupe...and i notice that since my front are gettin bald...at high speen (i.e. freeway driving) the front is shaky...so i was wondering if i just replace the front 2 tires..will the shaking go away..or do i need to replace all at the same time?
the shaking may just be from your tires wearing and becoming out of balance. If the tires aren't really bad, you might be able to get them re-spin balanced and be on your way. But yes replacing the tires should get rid of the shaking if it is only the front tires that are wearing and became out of balance.
The shaking could also be due to an alignment problem, which could have caused the tires to go bald in the first place. If the fronts wore out a lot faster than the rears (and you're not doing burnouts on every corner
), i'd have the alignment checked when you get new tires.
