Default knock sensor? car turning over?

i have a 01 gsr in my 97 civic. the knock sensor is connected and everything but it always threw out the CEL. but i dont have any problems with the car. no popping/pinging sounds from the motor while running so i dont think there is any knocking.

the only problem is that its hard to turn over the car in the morning. it might be just cuz its really cold but ionno for sure. it takes a lil while to start. i would have to try a few times and then it would start.

is this a problem with the knock sensor? or is it something else?
