After reading a post where a Hondata tune did not fair so well against an AEM EMS that was fully tuned, an idea struck me: How about a shootout between dyno tuners? Same car, same motor, same dyno, same day? Tuner gets to choose his weapon, so to speak, as far as engine management. Maybe SGT vs P1(Jack) vs ?? . It could be interesting. Maybe a West Coast and an East Coast contest? I don't know if the tuners would go for it, it's just an idea.

 

that would be nice. but yet, if one is better, the others reputations will be shot down pretty bad i think.

they are all good at what they do. i dont think a tuner shootout would be a good thing just yet. maybe later on when there are more good tuners out there.

 

could be fun, but could end up being messy.

I think whats important is just getting the car tuned and running safely. If one tuner can squeak out a few more HP/TQ then so be it. The fact is that even if you do it on the same day, on the same dyno, you STILL may not the same results as the air around the dyno is constantly changing which affects the results.
