need to know if the H23a's are open or closed deck, if they changed from closed to open deck like the h22a's which year did it happen for the h23a's?

Ia m going turbo and like the other post, I heard that the vtec system is not good with turbos. I read somewhere that its about the lift or duration of the lift that vtec creates which allows boosted air to flow out of the system without first being used for power in the cylinders...anyone wanna clarify?

Don't know for sure, dude, but I say closed deck.
Pretty much everyone says the H23 is good for forced induction applications.

 

Oh and I think the main problem with VTEC and turbos is intake and exhaust valve overlap, which isn't so friendly to boosted applications. That could be fixed with timing or new camshafts though?

 

Or cam gears... new camshafts will set you free.

Oh, and I'm 95% sure it's closed deck.
