Who can figure this out
was helping my friend do an install.
when all was said and done I high passed the amp at 100 hz.
All the freqs came through, even low bass.
So I tried another amp that I knew worked fine.
Same thing.
What do you think is the culprit?
Whoever figures this out gets fat E props.
NO it is not the ground on the amp.

You're still going to get some bass even crossed over at 100HZ...depends on the slope of the crossover, generally higher is better. For example,a 24 db/octave slope at 100 Hz will not have as much frequency below 100Hz as a 12 db/octave slope.Try a higher crossover frequency and see what happens. If nothing, then maybe your crossover is shot...you can always install a capacitor on the speaker you don't want low bass going to.
yea i normally get solid bass up to about 150 somewhere in that range, maybe slightly higher. Isn't HP settings for like component speakers in the 250and higher range?
Low pass ain't working to great either.
set it to 50 hz LP.
Got vocals and guitars comming out of my sub.
This amp just came back from manufacturer, they said they tested it and it works fine.
here is an interesting thing.
It is wired to a deck with an internal x over.
Set the deck to 100 hz HP with a steep slope, worked fine.
Yes I know there are ways around it, but I don't think I should need to, since other amps have never needed to.

If you are using the crossover and frequency filter on the amp, all processing on the deck should be off. The only thing you should be able to adjust is subwoffer level if it has a sub out. No treble, bass, nothing. All tuning should be done using the amp.
I am tuning at the amp, with no deck cut offs.
That is why it is not working.
I was telling all of you that when I cut at teh deck it works fine, but when I don't it don't work.
Some guy told meabout a short with my rca and to use a ohm meter.
BULL **** to me.
I already tried new cables.

Have you had this problem with the amp before? If it's not a great quality amp it might not have good crossovers in it. I've had that problem before with Jensen amps, even an MTX with a 10" sub.
