well jl audio is a great company for subs hands down. i just got one 12w6v2 hooked up to a jl audio 500 watt amp and its sounds so awesome. most people really dont need two 12's, but thats up to u. i personally like a clean system, in the sense that the bass doesnt shut out ur mids and highs, and ur eq and crossover are tuned right. unless u hanve great compoment speakers with their own amp, i think 2 12's will be too much. i could be wrong, u should get lots of opinions from other people too..

I have 2 12w6v2's and they hit hard as fawk. I am running them off of a JL Audio 1000/1. W7's are sweet *** subs ans if I could afford it, I'd have those. But if you want w7's, be prepared to pay. I would recommend a JL Audio 1000/1 on each of them. If you get your equipment online (and if you do there will be no JL Audio warenty), the least you will spend is about $700 on each amp, and like $500 on each sub. I could be wrong with these prices, but if you add it up it comes to $2400. Not just that, but with that kind of power, I would also recommend a battery/alternator upgrade (no idea on cost). Then with installation and materials and whatnot, I think you are looking at very close to $3,000.

I love car audio more than anything else, but $3,000, IMO, is not worth it.

And in the end, I would just recommend a JL Audio 1000/1 and 2 JL Audio 12w6v2's and you will not be disappointed.

agreed, alot of people run that setup. nothing to be disappointed about. W7 are alot of cash. i am happy to see someone have a conscience with bass, i would rather have super high quality components, and some compression drivers maybe if i get daring. W7's do look so nice though, that donut surround almost makes me hungry.

A single 13w7 should suit you. I have one and only pushing about 700 to it. Very Loud.

go to your local shop and try to see if they can lower the price on the W7. My friend bought a 12w7 with a box for only $500 with warranty.

Get any amp, as long as it puts out about 700w at 3ohm

What did the setup run me? Well, I am sure I could have got it a lot cheaper buying it off ebay or online somewhere, but with this amount of money, Iwanted the warrenty. So what I did was I went to JL's site and did a dealer locate within 50 miles of my zip. I then called each one and asked prices and tried to talk them down. I ended up finding this guy that sold me the 12w6v2's for $300 each and the 1000/1 for $700.

I seriously considered doing a 500/1 on each sub, but I did not for 2 reasons. 1) I could not have got 2 new ones for $700, and 2) when I set the system up, I wanted to set the amps next to each other the way JL designed them to be, so they look like 1 big amp. I also have a JL 300/4 and with 2 500/1's next to that, they would not have fit in my trunk.

Our shop has one 13w7 in our hummer pushed by the jl 1000 watt mono amp. Very Loud, Very Clean. Alot of people are amazed we only have one in there. All i say is if your gonna get one, dont ***** it, and give it lots of power in a small box.

soon i will get my civic back from the shop where i will have a 1000bd rockford amp running a 12w7. I too am running MB quarts with another rockford amp. If you build the system up right all you need is one sub. Should be pretty loud!

Good sub, but not very effecient.
Cost is high unless you have hook ups.
Requires a big box to run at lower power levels.
Plays the lows very nicely.
I would only get it if I had a hook up.
