b18c1 timing desperate help!

Default b18c1 timing desperate help!

is there anything i need to do with the distributor before putting it on? also, when i put the camshafts in, the are both kinda crooked (the "up" arrows are a facing towards each other a little)....how do i adjust that?

hope this makes sense.

put your motor at TDC... by lying up the white line on your crank pulley to the little pointer. With that, your cam gears both should be pointing upwards exactly. If they are not, your cam gears are off a tooth or more. Do not start your car unless you are 100% sure that the cam gears are lined up correctly.

About the distributor, there is only one way a distribuotr can be put on. You just have to adjust it for timing issues though.

turning it clockwise or counter clockwise while the engine is running and while using a timing light

Before twisting the distributor with the timing light, it has to be warmed up and you hafta have the diagnostic plug looped around (the one on the passenger-side footwell with two wires.)
