I currently have hondaclutch stage 2 and I am thinking I need a new one. I shifted at redline and let out and the clutch seemed to never engage. This has happened twice now. I am pretty sure this is a sure sign of needing a new clutch.. So now I want to get something different that will last longer.. Thanks

 

cant speak for any one else but i know a few people that had bad expiriences with the hondclutch... id go with act or clutchmasters.... i have a centerforce dual friction (feels just like a stock one, but hasn't slipped yet) and i like it just fine

 

My choice for that would be a Clutchmasters stage 3 or 4. Peace.

 

Did ACT get their problem with shattering clutches fixed?

 

yeah they using some ductile iron stuff should be fixed now.

 

whats this, I never heard about ACT shattering, what was it all about, they just sent me their unsprung 6 puck clutch to try out, I dont use a scattershield on the street and dont want my passenger to lose their feet when the disc breaks through the tranny. pls inform me about ACT breaking problem

 

There were several cases of brand new ACT clutches being installed in cars and within a week, they completely shattered. They were not abused, and some of them shattered the very first time they were engaged (even though it was gentle). As b18bturbo said, they should have it fixed by now.

 

i also found one of there clutches to shatter i had a scatter shield luckily and nothing much was destoryesd. The ACT clutch was having problem wit hthe metal they used in there pressure plates.
