Default B18B/Turbo or B18c1 NA-?

I'm having trouble on deciding which route to go exactly for my 97 Ek hatch... get a B18B and put a Drag kit on it, or just going B18C1 with bolt ons. How much power should i expect from the Drag setup? What about some 1320 times for both? As far as I know, the costs of doing the two are comparable but as far as the reliability goes i'm really not sure. Also, if anyone has some pictures of their setups, that would be great too. Any comments, opinions are needed! thanks

as far as power is concerned.. there is no number figures with that set up cuz you can always change the boost. The turbo set up is only as reliable as the time and effort you take in building and tuning it. I know people that blew their motor at 8lbs and I have friends that run on 14lbs without problems. This is with all stock internals. I would go with the LS turbo set up cuz it has potential for alot more HP. The B18C swap is a nice swap but unless you do engine work.... bolt ons will only get you into running mid to low 14's.

are you buying the LS motor or what..?
from what i understand you can get an
SiR motor for close to the price of a b18b
then slap on the boost and you get
vtec+boost.

Are you using the engine for a daily? If so then I would go with the B18C and stay N/A cause there is more reliability in a stock engine no matter what anyone says.....sure you can build a turbo engine to be reliable but, more parts always equals more things that can break.

On the other hand if you have another Daily driver TURBO THE HELL OUT OF IT!!!

get the gsr put some high compression pistons on it and go all motor. start of like that and work to buliding up the head. pretty much just go for all motor gsr is more reliable and you can find some good deals around you can run low 14s with a stock gsr in a EG hatch. I ran 14.3 in my hatch. cousin ran 13.8 with the hole car stripped with a stock gsr. Dont buy b16 if you do that just go ahead and get you a stolen gsr its just not wort it.

Stay N/A..I went 14.2 with a bad clutch and just basic bolt ons in my 98 cx.

B18B turbo is what I recommend, but you will have to "tinker" with it very often and tune it often. Its alot more powerful then a GSR. SiR?? JDM B16a2...is that what ya mean? They go for about 2200. B18B can be had for 1,100. I got mine for 750 and it was a 99'. Bottom line is... B18C is good for low 14's.. Turbo LS can be 13's.. just depends on how much work and how often you are willing to work on your car.

This is definately going to be daily driven, also i'm in school right now so the time spent working on the car may vary. Where did you guys get your B18B's? That 750 sounds very tempting!
