Taking out the A/C system & Power Steering to save weight.
Hey, I'm trying to save a little weight and I hardly ever use my A/C because I'd much rather have the windows down then suck all my HP through the vents.
Has anyone taken out their AC? Any idea how much it weighs?
If anyone knows the best way to do this, please help me out. For example, what lines do I remove, what parts can I remove? etc... Also, would be be just as "easy" to put back in if I ever wanted to? Or would it be a dealer job?
I'd like to take out my power steering pump too... should I just plug the lines? or Do I connect them together? any ideas? I already took the belt off and it has given new meaning to driving my car! It's great.
Thanks for your help!

Is this car your daily driver? If so I wouldn't do any of those things to it. Power steering pump is not going to make appreciatable weight difference and since the car was designed with it, you could be dangerous to others if you need to make a quick turn to avoid an accident.

Better get that pump off or you will ruin it. It needs the fluid running through it if it is still attached to your steering system.

Daily Driver. Only car.
I plan on taking out the pump in a week or so.
If you have ever taken the PS out of your integra, you will see what I am talking about. It's a totally different feel for driving. I wouldn't really call it a hazard for other drivers though, I don't see where that idea comes from.
