Wouldnt taking out the PS make the car really hard to steer, and what other benefits would that hold.

reason i ask is because i see where people are doing it, but i dont understand why.

power steering does exactly what it says, it's power assisted steering, if you take it away, you have to use more muscle power.

makes it easier to steer but adds weight to car! also takes power away fro the car

ok, lemme ask this, ive never driven a car without PS.

lets say with PS the cars steering on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being easiest) is 1

without PS what would that come too

Free horsepower and weight savings. Isn't free power always good?

I removed mine because I don't like the feel of power steering in a lightweight front wheel drive chassis. The "feel" of the car is much different without it. If you're comfortable with what you have, just leave it as is.

i actually enjoy the feel of the road more, plus it makes highway driving feel more stable imo.

Eh, I'd rather have it. 3-4 HP being lost VS 3-4 HP gained & tired arms on curvy roads. I'll take the 3-4HP lost and be comfortable. Not to mention I'm keeping my AC when I do my turbo install.

Honestly, I can't knock people w/out PS because I've never tried it. I'm lazy and I like to be as comfortable as possible when I'm driving. Just wish I could afford some new seats instead of these beat-*** uncomfortable EG EX seats.

well, the reason i was considering doing this is because of highway driving, i heard it makes it alot more stable.

However, i live on the most curvy road known to man, in the mountains, lots of switchbacks.

thats why i was wandering how difficult it would make it to drive

plus driving without it is like driving a different car especially while gunning it through u turns! u have to turn the wheel back unlike p/s when u just let go and the wheel turns back. i almost bit the dust several time when i got my first car without p/s but now i like it better

I totally agree. Any time I drive a p/s car on the freeway, I hate the way it feels.

Start working out. I personally don't find it that difficult at all. Even when I am completely stopped, it is not too bad at all. Of course I am 5'10" 205. I think it is mostly personal preference. Originally I removed it for power saving reasons, but now I like it better.

Really? That might change my mind about the PS then. I've heard that a non-PS car is just as easy to drive once you're moving, not to mention you have a better feel for the road.

I've heard that the hardest thing is making a turn from a stop, ie: stop sign, red light, parking, ect.
