Default manual cam swap into auto b16...

Preface: Car is an EM1, original motor fucked up w/ JRSC, so we swapped in a 1st gen B16 that was originally an automatic as a temporary replacement, along with the JRSC.

I found out about the auto vs. manual cam differences in the b16. Question is, if I put the manual cams into the auto motor, is it absolutely neccessary to swap the valve springs? To change the springs, you'd probably have to pull the head, and I don't wanna do that lol I just want to swap in the newer b16 cams into the auto motor as I build the newer b16 with better parts I want to go with this auto b16 till it dies out on me I figure I make use of the newer b16 parts...

Seems like the auto cams peak much earlier. But on my dyno, they dont peak until 8100, maybe because of the JRSC? If I swap in the manual cams, should I expect an increase in power?

I also have an AUTO B16 engine. I'm currently building a GSR block and plan on using the head on top- swapping out the B16 cams with GSR's and swapping the valvetrain, as well. If your going to the B16 manual cams, you should also upgrade the INTAKE springs- AUTO doesn't have Dual intake- just single.
However, I revved my AUTO head to 8K under boost many times and never had a problem. I'd say you should be alright with just upgrading the cams

you can change the valve spring without taking off the head with the right tools.
