Default hack vs retarding timing

i´ve spent my whole morning trying to find a good answer of what to do with the timing when running the hack but couldnt come up with any good answers.

so now i ask here instead... im running stock b16a2 with drag gen3 and the hack.
what should i do with my timing.. i dont wanna run a msd box because im gonna get AEM EMS as soon as the cash is there, but until then.
is it safe with retarding the timing like 4 degrees? i use ngks 7-n11 sparks.
i dont wanna loose all my hp without boost either.

btw we have 98octane fuel in sweden.

I had to pull 3 at 8psi to keep it from pinging. I keep the boost down because I don't want to retard it any more. I 'm pretty sure I could be more agressive with the boost or timing if I had my 2.5' exhaust done. stock must be creating some heat problems and maybe some reversion

on 98 octane you should be ok with only 2 degrees pulled out, but i would go over 10 psi with out retarding more...

damn, missed the 98 octane part somewhat... I would love that kind of octance normally at the pump here. I was thinking about with 93, premium here.
