Default installing turbo, with no fuel or tuning

I am installing my turbo next week. I don't have big injectors or hondata yet. I am planning of getting that at the end of the month. I can put the turbo on but just take the wastegate spring out right? wouldn't the turbo still see a little boost? Is a little boost ok?

you could run 5-7 lbs and be ok.

dont listen to this guy!!!! you dont want to boost at all, not to mention the fact that your map will throw a code if you do.

I have no tuners around. so i can't put the injectors cause i am putting in 880. can't i just run the stock with the wastegate on. I am not planning on reving it over 3500 rpm.

here is an idea, if instead of taking the spring out, i just just hook the vaccum hose to the top of the WG and it should stay open the whole time, and leave the side vaccum port open.

Waiting would be your best friend. Rushing will only dissapoint you. I speak from my own experiances.

If the turbo kit you are running comes with an FMU and missing link map sensor/check valves then 5-7 psi on stock timing and ecu should be fine. Don't get boost happy though until it is properly tuned. Which motor is this on again?

I have boosted 3 prelude's, 2 civic Si's, 1 SOHC civic, 1 GSR, and 1 b18c5 with no problems using a FMU and check valves untuned with stock ecu and timing. Keep in mind all the motors were stock boosting 5-7psi and not one of them blew. I do agree that tuning is very necessary but some of you act like if you push 1psi on a motor with a simple turbo kit that you are going to blow the motor to smitherines.

i have my gm 3 bar installed but not hooked up. I heard you can't hook it up because the stock ecu can't read the voltage on it. So i still have to wait for hondata for that. I don't have missing link or fmu. The things is i am pulling the WG spring out so there is no boost or should be little boost. I really don't think it would hurt to get 3 or even 4 psi and plus i am only reving it below 3500 untill i get my hondata. I think i am going to order that tonight.

If you have no FMU and no injectors and no fuel management... you are an idiot if you run any boost at all. Be patient! Motors aren't cheap..

Yup, I drove 3+ hours to Canada with my turbo kit on running stock injectors on the stock ECU with no tuning of any kind - Just stay in vacuum!!!

1 psi can blow your motor in the right situation. i'd wait...but if you must put on the turbo now...just keep it out of boost.
