2004 Accord Coupe EX V6 6 Speed Impressions
I am currently contemplating trading my 2003 Nissan 350Z Track model for an '04 Accord Coupe. I've only been able to drive an automatic so far, the local dealer won't get a 6 speed in until early March. I've had a few problems with my 350Z since it is an early first year model, so I was wondering if there were any known issues or common problems with the new Accord coupes. I am looking for something more practical than the Z that is very reliable and more comfortable in a daily driver role that still provides good performance and would be good in the snow. Also, if anyone has a good picture of an Accord Coupe in the Sapphire Blue Pearl I would appreciate it, the dealership has none in this color and for some reason there are none on the Honda website or the brochure. Thanks!
well poeple been complaning about brakes problem. and sometimes hard starts and some rattles. but i got I4 03 and i only have the rattle problems. so if your lucky probably wont have any problems
I've had mine for a couple months now and love it. I've only one minor complaint, Rattles, Rattles, Rattles. The A pilar and windshield area creaks in cold weather and the rear deck is annoying as hell. The bass from 6x9's rattles the deck. I've pretty much fixed that one though.
Other than the rattles it seems soo far to be a typical great Honda product.
It would mostly likely be more reliable in the long run than what you have now and actually, its a blast to drive(for an accord). You'll love the 6speed tranny and the groan from the intake and exhaust sounds great for a stock Honda. Quiet when you want it to be and loud when you are cutting loose.
Good luck!

Well it had decent power and loved vtec....tires were kinda
and rim size was small compared to car. The OEM optional kit looks
. Great interior, awesome power, reliability of honda.

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad to hear there are no real major issues with the Accord. Are the dealers helping in fixing the root of the rattles or are there fixes that you can do yourself? The power did seem very good for a 3.0 V6, even in automatic form so I think it would be a fun car to drive and the interior is much nicer than the Z. Plus, saving $128/month in insurance is a big plus!

My problem was that I replaced the deck speakers for good ones and they were putting out too much bass. So I knew it wasn't from bad speakers. I had some rattle before with the stock ones but it got much worse with these new ones.
so, I spent some time on my back in the trunk and crammed in the backseat with the bass turned up. After about a half hour of rap music I was able to pinpoint all the areas that were rattling. I used pieces of foam between the deck and the metal in the bad spots. It definitly helped it out alot but I have a feeling the rattles will be back. If they return I'm going to do the whole rear deck in Dynamat and that should solve the problem for good. Dynamat is the best fix for rattles so thats what I would suggest you do if its really annoying.

I work at a honda dealership the 6-speed accord is a very quick ride not to mention the ride quality is great. If i can remeber correctly there is a recall for the rattle of the brakes. I seen some paper work floating around about that, so you might wanna check on that to those who are having the problem...but please don't hold me to it. I will try to check around for ya guys
