do you have a cam gear? that'll definitely make a difference... as for the VTEC threshold, I have mine pretty darn low... at 3500rpm... but it gave a nice addition to my power curve between 3500 and 5200 rpm... as for the A/F ratio settings, that should probably be done on a dyno... but by leaning out from 5.5K and up will help a bit...

oh, i forgot to say that every motor is different... so the best results will be produced from your V-AFC on the dyno...

DYNO TUNE IT! Trying to do the settings yourself is just asking for trouble. You could actually loose power.

Or if you want to hold off on dynoing it, you can get an air fuel meter and watch the air fuel ratio through the power band... Where it gets too rich, lean it out with the V-AFC at those rpms, where the mixture gets too lean, richen it out at those rpms. Keep in mind two things... the air fuel mixture produces optimum cylinder pressure between 12.5 and 13.5 (or is it 13.0 and 14.0?). Secondly, richen out the mixture a tad just before VTEC kicks in (whatever you set it at)... it helps to have the mixture a bit richer just before the VTEC kicks in since there is such a surge in torque at that rpm (when the VTEC is not at the OEM setting).

Also, I recommend that you get a cam gear and retard the timing a bit. On our cars (SOHC VTECs), advancing the timing yields more low end power, and retarding the timing produces more high end power...
