Default Help me identify this distributor! Prize for the winner!

your prize will be the satisfaction of having helped a fellow HT'er :D

been having problems with my MSD wires and not sure if it was just the wires or not so I decided to back myself up anyway.

Got this dizzy w/cap, coil, and plugs off ebay for super cheap and the engine it was on was running when parted (though I honestly question that assumption lol).

anyway, guy had no clue which engine it came off of Y7, Y8 or what. Just that it was a 97 civic...didn't even know the model trim. He was just parting what was left after theft recovery.

Only numbers I can find are:

TD-8OU
6M27

doubt that helps but I dont know where else to look. Are they interchangeable??

Oh and if anyone is interested make me an offer for the dizzy itself without cap, coil, and rotor button!

thanks!!

its an obd2 SOHC distributor. Shouldnt really matter what trim of civic it came out of. If it fits and plugs up, it'll work.

cool beans! as long as they interchange I'm happy.

so there's nothing special or different between them?

no special hidden vtec super secret wire or anything? Just figured since one engine was vtec and the other wasn't there had to be some weirdo thing different with them.

nope.. in fact an integra LS distributor will work on a DOHC vtec one.. but only thing is the extra leg that you have to peg off..

This is the same situation, but for this, your distributor willl bolt on to any SOHC d-series motor.
