Have questions about replacing the VSS on a 95 civic ex.

My VSS (Vehical Speed Sensor) Has gone bad. So I need to first find out where it is located at on the Tranny and 2nd how much is this gonna cost me if I do it buy myself or a mechanic?

Its on the top of the tranny when your looking from the passenger side.
It goes in straight down.
Bad news, they cost a lot new.
Good news, they are all identical from 92-00 so just hit the junk yard.

do it yourself its easy. you need a ratchet, short extension and a 10mm socket. its located on the top rear of the trans. (firewall side) only sensor there, cant miss it.
on the recomendations of mista bone
clean the connector out real good before you start buyin ****. i cleaned mine, bought a new one, and have tested all wires leading up to the plug.... and mine still doesnt work. next to is to make a new plug.
let me know if ya replace it and it starts workin. are you throwing a code... 17 maybe?
