Need Help!! Noob questions but a valid one
Okay, I've searched the archives and couldn't find an answer. My radiator hose leaked fluid on the speed sensor and now my speedometer is not working. As expected my ecu is throwing up a code 17. I have ordered a new sensor but how can I check to see if the connector is okay? If the connector is the problem, can I just cut the damaged connector out and splice a new connector in or do I need to replace the entire wiring? Also what can I do to clean the connector? Any particular cleaner to use? Where can I find a new connector? Price range? Is there a DIY on this? Any links would be appreciated. BTW, I have a 95 Civic EX coupe.

It's most likely the sensor itself...the connector should be okay.
I would also change the tranny fluid just in case. The outlet for that sensor goes directly into the transmission. Even though the chances of some coolant getting in there and doing any kind of damage is slim to none, id still do it as a precaution
