well unless you have cut out the top part of your bumper, i don't see it being a huge problem mounting it in the factory holes. thats what i did, and i havent had any problems with it blocking the intercooler ... its not like its a huge sheet of metal covering the whole opening.

thats sucks cause they police dont mind it here... I asked and they said as long as its in plain view in the window I was ok.

missouri is much more lax on this stuff though obviously.

I would definantely not do this without suction cups. That thing could become a very dangerous projectile in an accident

If he was pulled over and the cop was a ***** he could get charged for defacing government property. You cannot mangle plates even with pop rivets.

Only place to mount IMO that doesn't hack your hood is between the FMIC and the foglight holes. You may block "some" of the intercooler piping though.

Anyone know the bolt size on the front bumper for the plates?

I moved mine out of the way for my intercooler (note: this was just a test-fit, no laughing):

what i'd do:
- move it to either side as far as possible w/o it interfering w/ the foglights.
- drill new holes on the plate (middle sorta) and fasten to the stock bumper holes (moved up, kinda centered)
- make a bracket to move the plate up w/o drilling the plate.

GOOD LUCK!

I took some large rubberbands and put mine on my passenger side visor. You can flip it down and be "legal" if you want to live on the "wild side"
