I am thinking of getting P73 head. I need to know how detailed the BAR people are. I believe the BAR info is taken from the block (serial # and VIN) and not the head. Anyone know for sure? I need to replace my head and using an ITR head is my preference.

it wont pass visual mainly due to the fact that the ITR IM is of a different design

temp, the car is already BAR-ed. My only issue is the smog guys. i guess it will really depend on if they know their stuff or not.
if you already have a BAR sticker you should be ok with most places to have it smogged. I think most places won't give it a 2nd look once they see the BAR sticker

hmm it should work I don't see why it won't work.
they don't check the head they check the block if it says b18c then its b18c also if it pass it should get a sticker.
I been to bar like fucken 7-8 times I know they don't check the head
they see b18c somg as a GSR

unless you go to a honda engine rebuild shop and the smog inspector is having a really bad day i think you can sneak it by them. to tell you the truth i probably couldnt tell a C1 head from a C5. just worry about the fumes. and use ur black valve cover right?

ok then, you should not have a problem, but what ECU are you going to use?

The ECU is irrelevant as long as it passes the sniffer. They don't run tests on 0BD1, only on 0BD2.

actually it is relavent because if you run the GSR ecu w/ the ITR head you will get a CEL......so it is totally relavent

A CEL for the GSR's secondary butterflies? A friend of mine had a SKUNK2 manifold on his GSR motor with stock ECU and he got no CEL's.
