My Engine Blew!!
FYI about my car, my motor blew due to the Timing Belt snapped.
ATTENTION: DO NOT EVER USE INLINE PRO CAM GEARS! They are garbage! Basically it ate away and shredded my timing belt and finally it just gave up, and this was on a brand spankin new timing belt too, probably lasted for about 3 weeks.
Its currently getting fixed and stuff, just wanted to warn anyone who are changing their cam gears. Stay away from Inline Pro Products, it was a shock at first, since they are a respectable company, but not this time.
Just thought I'd share that info with you guys. I will try to get pics of the damaged belt and gears soon.
Anyone ever had any problems or even heard about these cam gears?
The work was professionally installed from the Master Tech at Honda, which I have complete confidence in his work, doubt about it.
As far as damaged, all 16 valves bent, the head is being sent to the machine.
I was using the stock belt, but was Brand Spankin New, had it on for about 3 weeks before it gave out on me.

I've seen cam gears slip plenty of times in the past. We used to replace the adjusting bolts with high grade piecesthat wouldn't slip. This was back with AEM gears were about the only choice.

its possible that whoever installed it left the tension a bit too lose or something, that would cause it to shread and break too. I kinda find it hard for a cam gear to eat the belt that bad, unless they left the sprocket teeth like razor sharp or something, but who knows,
Sorry to hear it. Be sure that the gears are at fault before you condemn them, though. It is possible that installer error could be the cause. Best of luck with the rebuild
Why are you flaming Inline Pro? I have known many Hondas that have left their shop completely bad*ss.. Also I will be working for Honda and my old roommate used to work on Hondas for 2 years.. It is not uncommon for the belts to rip and send the vavles into the pistons.. I am sorry for ur loss, but remember timing belt replacement is vital to those engines. By the way I have been seen thicker and stronger timing belts for Hondas, so you may want to consider that route as anything aftermarket will add stress on other parts.. Sorry if you get upset, but things happen for reason, I am neither defending Inline Pro, or blaming anyone.. As I have learned, Performance parts add stress to a factory not made to handle the extra stress!!! ALWAYS Replace any part that may be stressed beyond its limits. Just some food for thought.. Live and Learn RIGHT?!

pics of the gears?
and why are people talking about bolts loosening? He said the gears destroyed the belt, not that they slipped.
I really wanna see pics of your gears cause right now I'm doubting they were really the cause...

that doesn't sound to good for inline pro products.
i wanna see pics of these gears.
wow, now they do not only rip you off ... they make faulty ****!
I blame the owner of the car. When I install stuff. I monitor it. When you pay Jimbob the honda "Master Tech" he would rather your **** break.. IE more money for him. Jim Bob blames the gears.. you buy into ..etc etc.
DIY or DIE.. rich yuppie bastards.
