Default Timing belt getting destroyed after build

Ok, motor runs great except this whole cam timing thing.

all this damage happened in ~10miles worth of driving. the marks on the timing belt are much worse in person, you can see how the material is ripping. I cleraly need a new timing belt.

B18a milled .024" with a b16a2 head. Some adj. cam gears. You can see the problem in the pics. the belt hits the cover, the belt has odd damage on it, it doesn't sit properly on the cam gears, and the other one is i cant line up the crank+cams. if they get linded up they'll go out of whack after i drive the car. the tensioner is not loose either. on to the pics!

oh yeah, and anyone had any luck with those ebay gauge-cluster-bezel pods? reaction and obx make them i saw

do you have the plate on the crank to keep the t-belt from moving?

There are two plates you need. One in between the crank pulley gear and the oil pump (that one should face toward the pump like this ] ) and the other facing the opposite way ( [ ) should be in between the crank pulley gear and the crank pully bolt. Hope you didnt forget this step.

Brass plates missing or in wrong place could cause this, bad thrust bearings or tensioner could also cause this.

My money's on the brass t-belt plate being on the wrong way. Its such an easy step to miss.
