MT fluid leak

after having my front right cv axel replaced i found a trans oil leak, and when i took it back they said it was leaking around the shifter and would have to take it to a trans shop, has any one ever heard of a MT leaking around the shifter? cause i never have, any sugestions?

That's strange. The shifter cables enter the tranny housing on the top. I can't really imagine how oil would come out there. Are you able to see where the oil is coming out?
