note to all

Sgt's post is a different type of dyno so # comparisions are pointless, my plots are SAE corrected BTW

My intention with the above was to show people that the EMS does work and works well.

Shouldn't the post be better off being named:

P1 tuning vs. base map?

You know if you run the base JRSC EMS map it wouldn't look "pretty" either....

Jack...do you know why there was a variance in the boost pressure on the Hondata setup? It shows a drop of ~2psi compared to the AEM EMS.

I'm so glad I sold my Hondata. What a pain in the *** to tune. This AEM system looks like it's work every penny!

Not a very fair comparison. Some less educated people might think that based on this test, the AEM EMS is much better than Hondata.

Is the AEM eaiser to setup: yes
Is the Hondata a pain in the *** to setup: yes
Is a properly tuned AEM going to 'outperform' a properly tuned Hondata: probably will depend more on the tuner than the tuning device.
Is Jack a good tuner: he's the best I've seen. Props Jack

I agree, this is a very bad comparison. We all know that the EMS works. All standalones are going to provide similar plots, not exact, but close. Considering that 95% of this forum doesn't read they'll just look at the plots and just say "wow hondata sucks!"

Was the Hondata every properly tuned? I know it wasn't by you, but somewhere else?

Did not investigate, customer is revamping the belt/idler pulley setup as we speak, that will most likely fix that issue

JRSC's are know to slip (belt) if not properly maintained.

I think a motor setup couldve done just as well, but im not here to talk about my Bias of All motor vs Forced Induction.

Great plots Jack and SGT. How high did the engine temp go up? My bud had a GSR that was charged and it had a lil heat problem.

As a sidenote, I did the tuning under Jack's supervision. The car is really lightly modded so the power was as expected . . .very similar.
