Default What have you all gotten on your compression test ?

I've never had a reason to do a compression test on my Accord because it's always been running strong.. even after 118,000 miles. Anyway, I came into work one day bored off my ***, grabbed my snap-on compression tester and was very surprised with my results.

185, 185, 185, 187

... share your numbers with me. Thanks.

This is on a '97 F22B1.

176k miles - at or above 185 on all cylinders.

going to try to keep the car as long as I can

changed oil every 3 to 4 k miles using castrol oil.

Last time I did one on mine was at about 325k miles..... ranged from 199 to 203 psi across all four. Not half bad for an original motor, never been rebuilt! Good 'ol A20A3

What I find strange is that spec on an F22B1 is 178 across the board.

F22B1 = 8.8:1

I'm hitting 185.

Probably just a little carbon buildup on the top of the piston and face of the cylinder head or something. I wouldn't worry too much about 7 psi

190 - 200 with an 8.8:1 ? No way.

GSR's are in that territory with 10:1
