There are many variables (way too many to discuss) but the easiest setup would probably be just a CRVTEC... It's really the displacement that makes a difference even tho compression is an important part... PR3's in a B18C1 will have you somewhere close to ~11.40:1 which in my mind is an increase, just not a significant one... This is purely from ET's but cosider this... One of my friend's last season has his B18C1/EJ6 ('96 hatch) with a CTR IN cam, SK2 IN manifold, I/H, clutch, and slicks... He runs consistent 13.50's... Another friend had his completely stock bottom end CRVTEC (B20Z w/ a stock P72 cylinder head), R cams, and the same other basic stuff... He could do consistent 12.80's... Both in the same style car, close to the same compression, and around the same weight... Don't get me wrong, if you were to sleeve up your GSR block I would just do that... Not only cuz of the extra strength (really not what I'm worried about with mild compression) but I just don't like running the external VTEC oil feed... In this case the B20 is probably the way to go...

was the b18c at around 11.4 compression?

No Albert's motor is internally stock (excluding the CTR IN cam) so his compression is still at 10.0:1...
