What turbo for d series + other questions
What is a good turbo to run on a d series? im thinking of the t25, i know its small, but for a noob to boost i think it would be a good idea. Im planning on running the hf/std manifold and tyrus intercooler and for fuel management i am going to run the hack. Also, will i be able to use the stock fuel pump for around 7-10psi? and will my stock clutch be able to run this power or how long will it last? thanks alot for answering such noob ?'s

The stock pump should be fine and the clutch should last you long enough to save up $ for a new one. I cant really help you on the turbo because i run a t3/t04e but a handfull of d-series guys seem to like the t25

yah the t-25 is not a bad idea for a first time boosted car. it's cheap, small, quick spool, etc. and if u want u can always get a diff manifold and turbo later on. the turbo is the least important choice for the first time around though, especially if ur not aiming for HIGH hp off the bat. i'd focus on the fuel management first then decide on the turbo.
I seriously recommend the T3 I myself was going to go t-25 but then i thought about the future and didnt feel like buying another turbo in a year....it makes awesome power on the d series, it spools quick, pulls hard to redline, I have nothing but good succes with this turbo and would def. take it over the t-25 but again this is my .02 cents, a t28 is a good choice too.....

hehehe i have to agree even though i said the T25 is ok... because i did exactly that... bought a t-25 for $80... then sold it and bought a T3 60 trim. i only recommended the t25 because i know they're cheap as hell and abundant.
thanks so much fellow boosters. yeah i've heard alot of success stories with the t-25 but i am afraid that eventually i will want to upgrade. but then again, it wouldn't be bad for a first time setup. thanks for all of the replies

if u can.... go with the T3 60 trim like i did. i loved it... made good power (172whp/143tq @ 6psi, and 194whp/164tq @ 8psi), spooled pretty decent with the .48 a/r turbine side.

that sounds like the perfect combination of little lag and top end hp. im gonna go with a t3 60 trim soon, and i have to say that from what ive heard/read it is a very well suited turbo for a sohcvtec or other d series

yup t3 is best of choice if you turboing a stock sohc. t3/t4 laggs a lot, especially if you are a sohc and have a cx tranny!!! i hate these things. but really concentrate on the fuel management!!!! hondata is a good choice. also, get the fuel pump, do it right the 1st time.
I just wondered what your full thoughts were about the T25. I am a first time booster also and i was shooting for 200 to 225 horsepower range. tell me what u think of my goals and if u know where i could get a nice T25 or even a T28

I ran a T25 and REALLY liked it for street racing (i know not supposed too) it spooled fast and didn't let me down on the top like everyone said it would. I'm going NA for awhile though, so im selling my whole setup. I ran it on a D15B2 and a D16A6, both had similar results as far as spooling and top end.
When I come back to turbos i'm done starting small though. Full buildup planned. IDK how much power I can get out of a sleeved D16A6, but I plan on finding out.
