Default Where to put the Sirius antanna?

I've had Sirius radio for about a month now and instead of putting the antanna outside, I put it behind the upper brake light. I think I would get better reception if I placed the antanna outside. I tried to put it on the roof but then I couldn't get the wiring through the lining in the rear window and I'm afraid that if I leave it on my trunk some kids are just going to rip it off (I park outside). Does anyone else have XM or Sirius? Where did you guys put your antanna? TIA!! - MOnica

You might just want to have a stereo shop do it and put it outside so you get the best reception

fknslmd - So you haven't had any kids running by and trying to rip off your antanna? I've seen people, kids, walking by and I know they are thinking about ripping it off! GRrr!! I guess I'll have to go with the trunk lid too!

bagged93accord - Wonder how much that's going to cost me

But you could try and mount it here:

Both of these I found on a VW forum:

Hope this helps

ok.. yeah.. you dont need the long antennea part.. just that slope.. I thought it was different from Xm but not. Trouble with antenneas is that the best place for them is outside of any interfering objects, therefore; means you would have to put it on the top of your car. My buddy has it on his trunk on his 5th gen accord.. it looks so ugly. I would definetly say the only place is the roof.

IMO xm is not worth it.....my friend had it for like a year but found that they either play off the wall music that he didn't like or it was all the mainstream stuff that got played out that you could find on the radio.......he just stopped using it and still has the antenna in fear of ripping off the paint and hasnt used it since. But then again all I listen to is my cd's
