Default Electrical Problems

Im getting some pretty intersting electerical problems with this car.

The service lights seem to have a problem.

1.If i start the car with the brake pressed the (Brake Light) light will come on and stay on the entire time the car is on. BUT, if I start the car without pressing the brake the brake light wont come on at all, at any time.

2.If i open my passenger door the door ajar light and the trunk open like both come on. Works fine for the driver side. The trunk light goes off with the door light when the door closes. Trunk light works fine when the trunk is open or closes.

Ive come to understand the guy who owned my car before me was a moron. From what I can tell he had a system and didn't put an inline fuse in the thing and it went up in flames. Theres burnt wire all the way from the batt. to the trunk. Ive check all the wiring to the best of my ability and it seems to made it though the ordeal pretty much ok, but as you can tell there must be a problem with it somewhere.

Anyway the radio he left me is either blown or the car's wiring is screwed. Im hoping its the radio. It blows fuses left and right.

My question is has anyone had any experince with this or can anyone suggest anything. Searched around cant seem to find any help if you know a thread please point me in the right direction.

Comon someone has to know something about this. I took out my dash to check the electronics and nothing looked fused or melted. While I had it out I did the blue light conversion so it wasnt a total waste, but im still looking.

This problem is realy starting to **** me off. Im loosing sleep over those damn lights. I be happy if I could get a repsonce of yea your screwed by new wires.

Well I can't help you much, but can point to getting a Helm's so you can see the wiring schematics. there is a door switch and a trunk switch that should separately feed those dash lights.
Either: 1) the moron wired the two switches together in the back of the car, or 2) the moron connected them at the dash just before the gauge
Se iff you can't follow the switch wires from the trunk forward and see if the door switch intersects it. If something burned, they may be shorted together somewhere.

The brake light is the for the ebrake, right? so you say when you hold down the brake pedal, the ebrake light comes on?

Honestly, based on your description of what the previous owner did, it will be nearly impossible for us to help you.

You say that the power wire burned. Was the power wire run from the battery, down the pass. side of the car, into the truck?? If so, it sounds like you need to check those wires.
