Hey guys, i am thinking of buying a gsr ... it;s wrecked, just missing the interior and bumpers im paying about $5000 for it as is. Question is.. should i get this and sell the Si that i just got done building? That was wrecked too, but it has 46k and the gsr only has 11k. Basically wat i am asking is if the gsr is worth the extra horsepower or if it wieghs more, making it the same 1/4 mi??... Do u guys think i should sell the si and get this gsr? I'll be making 2k w selling the si and paying for the gsr along w a beater car to get me around til its done in two months. It;s really going to be sad having the down time though. I cant decide.

 

i think gsr's weigh 2665, but not 100%

and if u are talking about a stock si and a stock gsr running the same 1/4 mile, i think u got your facts mixed up

 

are you indirectly asking if a gsr is faster than an Si?

 

GSR's weigh about 2776. i would keep the Si cuz you said you just finished building it back up. by the time you finish putting bumpers and an interior back into the gsr, you might end up loosing money in the end.

 

If it's wrecked like you say then you have to replace what? The whole interior and the front and rear bumpers? well if you are interested in just going fast then already have a stripped car, if you just throw a civic seat in there and replace the bumpers you'd be good to go. I stripped my interior on my gsr and I'm down to 2400 lbs. Hmm 11x miles on a gsr with a salvage title for $5000...if its in good working condition I'd say thats a deal, hell the engine alone with 11x miles is worth $2500. I'd say go for it, if you sell your old SI you can throw a lot of $$ into the gsr and come up with one really nice car. This is just my 2 cents. And oh yeah Im biased because I like tegs more then civics. Good luck

I;m going to look at the gsr today.. ill tell ya how it goes. The downtime on the car wouldnt bother me tooo too much. The only sad thing is that i would not be able to run in hondatech day at the track here .. the good thing is that i would boost right away w the gsr and i was planning to go n/a with the civic.

So you going to get rid of the SI and dump some of that money into the gsr? Thats always great to have a large chunk of $ to throw into a car all at once suspension and boost your problebly looking at ~4500 for a good setup. Have fun!

No they weigh 2665.

thats what i thought

 

Mine weighed 2650 on the scales at the weigh station. That was 100% stock with full tank of gas.
