gsr has much better performance, and will respond better to bolt-ons. si is sexier, and a lot cheaper. most people would say go with the gsr, i say si FTW!

Depends on prices/conditions. GSR is a better engine to start off with.

One thing to consider is that the gsr is more likely to get jacked. So, either get an Si, or pack your **** and move up here to NORCAL!

I gotta think an Si is right up there on the "please steal me scale" with a gsr. Find the best deal you can get on an Si, the best deal you can get on a GSR, THEN come back and ask this question.

They are just as fast as each other stock. IMO the only leg up the GSR has on the Si besides the extra 0.1L of engine is the leather interior. The GSR motor will respond to bolt-ons slightly better though.

I love my Si, so I'll say Si, just make sure it's not an EPB one, those like to disappear.

Get the GSR, looks better IMO and you'll be happier with the engine. And a GSR has more comfortable seats I would say.

The GSR still has a little more kick to it though. That's what I like about it. Even though I have a b16 lol

First of all, barley is a grain. Second, NO BENCH RACING! The GSR is faster. Just get whatever car suits you better, or whichever you can get a better deal on. Both have great potential.

Personally I like the 99-00 Si.. great looking civic. Never really did like integras, but still a nice car. I say the style of the Si is better. Go with whatever car comes as a better deal to you.

Wrong! This was taken from edmunds.com

2000 2 door GSR
Performance
Acceleration (0-60 mph): 7.1 sec. Braking Distance (60-0 mph): 128 ft.
Road Holding Index: .84 g Base Number of Cylinders: 4
Base Engine Size: 1.8 liters Base Engine Type: Inline 4
Horsepower: 170 hp Max Horsepower: 7600 rpm
Torque: 128 ft-lbs. Max Torque: 6200 rpm
Drive Type: FWD Turning Circle: 34.8 ft.

2000 Civic Si
Performance
Acceleration (0-60 mph): 7.2 sec. Braking Distance (60-0 mph): 159 ft.
Road Holding Index: .82 g Base Number of Cylinders: 4
Base Engine Size: 1.6 liters Base Engine Type: Inline 4
Horsepower: 160 hp Max Horsepower: 7600 rpm
Torque: 111 ft-lbs. Max Torque: 7000 rpm
Drive Type: FWD Turning Circle: 32.8 ft.

I don't think one tenth of a second to 60mph equals a "few car lengths."

Just as everyone has said above, it all about what you like. The GSR will respond a bit better on the i/h/e combination because the motor has a bit more torque to start off with. Im an si fan so i say EPB si! but really its all about what you like. Fact of the matter is, you will like either choice

Wrong. They both run 1/4 miles in the 15.5-15.7 range.

Your best bet would be to buy a civic whatever body style you like and swap a GSR or whatever into it. If you buy an Si it will get stolen and you will be disappointed with the performance. If you get the GSR it will just get stolen. It is the nubmer one stolen car in america for the past few years.
