Default What do you think about going to a 4-2-1 header from 4-1?

Did a search didn't really find anything and if I remember correctly there weren't any 4-2-1's in the great header test (well there was the Comptech and a T1R is listed but it doesn't say whether it was the 4-1 or 4-2-1) sooooo is anybody running a 2.5" collector 4-2-1? I wouldn't mind giving up a bit of peak hp if I gained a good bit of mid range, the two headers I'm specifically interested in are the T1R & Fujitsubo (both w/ 2.5" collectors), anybody running one of these? I'm especially interested to hear the opinions (or better yet see the dynos) of people who went from a 4-1 to one of these. Tweakmeister????

Oh yeah, running a JDM DC 4-1 now. TIA guys

I ran the fujitsubo and got worse results than JDM 4-1. Its a good looking peice. The second gasket kept going out on me and the guy I sold it to had the same problem. It dosn't have good flow charectoristics. I would recommend thier exhaust but not thier header.

chris: maybe since the secondaries are so short, many don't consider the spoon a 421, but they call it that. i have the spoon 421. i changed it out from the stock oem parts. unfortunately, i have never dynoed the car to see the gains.

the other thing that you're probably discouraged by is the price. though i think that integra r #760 is selling his (he has the black spoon car) for much cheaper than new.

good luck with your header decision.

Kepani, thanks for the info. Are you satisfied w/ your Spoon header? I'm sure it made a big differance over stock but did you feel it was worth the money?

Maybe I can go for a ride at the Expo?????

I am now running the comptech race header. I like better than my Fuji or JDM 4-1. I just don't like the fact that I can't run a cat

I remember hearing great things about that T1R header... i wanted one myself awhile back but it was out of stock for quite some time. I think it would go well with your T1R testpipe/exhaust.

yeah, i like it a lot. and yes, it made a big difference from stock; i put the spoon 421, jdm oem converter, spoon b-pipe and spoon n1 on all at once. i'm kinda disappointed that i didn't get to get a baseline before all of the changes.

as for a ride at the exblow, sure! i'm really looking foward to the event since it will be my first exblow. this will be my 4th track event.

I'm running just a SPOON 4-2-1 with car sound cat to feel a comparison if needed.

I've had the Comptech 4-2-1 and went to the Spoon 4-2-1 and could notice a difference in BOTH over stock.

It all depends on what you're looking for...but IIRC, the great header test DID include the spoon and it faired very well...

If I did it all again, I would still consider the Spoon as a viable option
