When swapping from a JDMShit.com hood back to an OEM hood we did'nt have the hood far enough forward and part of the latch was hitting the underside of the hood, not allowing it to close. I suggest taking out your grille (if it's on an EK) and watching to see what's keeping it from closing.

my stocker sometimes wont shut simply because sometimes the release cable binds i usually just have to put my finger in the latch and push down(i know that sounds kinda vague but its honestly the best way i can describe it)

edit : come to think of it its not a stock hood its a certifit

ok its one of three things

1..hood is not aligned properly to strike latch
2..hood is hitting the valve cover causing the hood not to reach the latch
3..latch is stuck half closed causing the hood not strike latch properly

it may actually be the latch, when i had my CF hood on my EG i had ordered from Tornactive it turned out really shitty and I had to cut metal out of the part with the latch on the hood to get it to close....I dont think thats it tho with fiber images since they are part of the hood where the one i had had bolts holding the latch to the hood

infamous fiber images 5g civic hood. I have one and there is a trick, you have to first take out the radiator bracket and make a thinner one out of sheet metal, then you move the latch higher up, and when you shut the hood, pull out on the front of the hood while pushing it down simultanouesly, i actually took the car to 100 w/o pins so i know its pretty secure

loosen the bolts and raise it up higher.

when i first got my FI hood it wouldn't close. i raised the latch and used a dremel tool to cut a whole in the underskeleton just big enough for the radiatort cap. now it fits like factory.

welcome to the joy of owning a fiber images hood! Mine did the same thing. I had to dremel out my bold holes on my hood latch so I could move the latch up. It would not shut, but I had some nasty gaps on the thing. This is why I sold my hood. I had a bad experience with that company.

I'll try and get some pics today, it was dark when I got home. Our hood wasn't even wide enough to cover the space that the stock on did, there is like a full inch gap on the pass. side and like a 1/2in gap on the driver's side. And the hood sticks up about 1 in higher than the fender going down the entire passenger side too. You can easily see the entire engine bay when you look through.
