Default smog help please!

i just dropped a d16y8 in my 90 lx 4 door about a month ago and i went to get it smogged and it failed to pass, sorry but i dont have a scanner to post pic of sheet but ill try to type where it failed, please help since my temp. moving permit is about to expire and i have no idea of what could be wrong...

NO (PPM)
max gp meas
835 2054 3181 @ 15 mph = gross polluter
774 1854 2651 @ 25 mph = gross polluter

it also failed at timing it was at 12btdc instead of at 18
the shop said it was a heating related problem ( but the funny thing is that just 2 weeks ago i just dorve it up the south lake tahoe ca from s.f. ca with NO problems, it was a little more than a 4 hour drive just to get there

those were the only 2 things it failed at

i would greatly appreciate any kind of advice

thanks for ure advice and for your time

Try correcting your timing. If it is over advanced it will cause emissions problems

haha.

SMOG is crazy in cali a Lot off things can cause nox. Ur cat might me dead ur timing might have to do something with it.. carbon build up vacuum leak do u have a EGR system..?

The old Honda motors produce a lot of NOX most off them don't pass especially the jdm motor produce hell nox

Good luck. You can try a few solutions like the alchol solution please search I think it helps for NOX
but ur HC might rocket up

the mileage don't matter. the jdm engines are never desigined to pass any kind of emissions. I seen some jdm motors pass most off them have a hard time with nox

well the 1.5 can pass with a higher score. if its newer it has to produce lower scores. if its older it can pollute more.
