Clutch Master cylinder upgrade??? Easier and smoother to shift?
Hi all,
I am looking to get an AcT Xtreme pressure plate to hold the power my new turbo D16 will make(275-300hp). I will be using a HYDRO 1995 DX transimission with a quiafe lsd.
I would like to know if there is a way to upgrade the Clutch master cylinder to something that has more volume in order to make the clutch softer. (Kind of like upgrading the brake M/C when swapping to discs)
My girlfriend will drive the car in traffic regularly and i don't want it to be too difficult for her. I will use a sprung full face kevlar disc (or centerforce dual friction disc which I already have)
I want to have all the strength of the xtreme while keeping it nice and smooth.
Please post personal experiences, or constructive ideas only. I don't need opinions on what other brands of items I should look into for a softer pressure plate.
thanks

this isn't really going to increase the volume, but will give a better feel to the clutch. Perhaps someone who has it will chime in for personal experience.

holy crap i have steel braided clutch lines and i had a ACT clutch on my car that crap was soo hard to push the pedal... with no flex in the lines the pressure is soo much greater.. and it seems like it engages more harsh.. the lines make a huge difference.
im looking into this as well, I have a doul friction/unsprung clutch in my car and it keeps blowing the clutch master cylinder, so far I have figured out the prelude and accord ones are bigger and will fit in, but I haven't actually installed it yet, still researching it more before I install it

Did you ever find a solution to a larger Clutch master cylinder and booster? I own a 93' Civic HB with a 5/8 Clutch master cylinder but totally feel that a larger one would be better. You know, less effort to engage and disengage the clutch plates...ect.
nope never did find one. It's funny you brought the thread back from the dead today, as I just put my new engine in with the ACT Xtreme pp and it is stiff...
Not too bad though, a new 996, and an old 930turbo had stiffer feel than the XT...
Now I just hope it'll hold the power with the SS disc...
