hey, I have a 97 integra gsr and its really hard to get into every gear sometimes even grinding into gear. Now everyone has told me that it is my synchro's going bad, so if that is the case would I need to buy another clutch system or get another transmission. I have changed the manual transmission fluid a couple of days ago and that did not help at all. Thanks.

no first look into gettin new syncros installed if that doesn't work then u'll have to look into getting a new tranny i know gsr transmissions are a bite rare around here but if u poke ur head into certain places u can come out with one for fairly cheap. unless the clutch is slipping then that won't be ur problem. if it's just grindin gears then u have bad syncros most likly unless theres a deeper problem

man i guess you never worked on transmissions before

if it is grinding all of the sudden in every gear
its your clutch
if its only certain gears, and high rpm only, then its syncros

what you need is a new clutch kit, either one of the springs in the clutch disc came loose, or the pressure plate is shot

save yourself a lot money and forget what other people are saying, its the clutch/pressure plate

 

It could even be that your clutch fluid has air & you need to bleed it. That's even easier than changing your clutch.
