get the k20a2. You are just wasting money trying to get the k20a. E-bay usually has a ton of them, just make sure you don't get ripped off.

k20a2 is an RSX type S engine... and its basically the type R motor with higher compression and bolt ons, etc. One can be had for as low as 3000$, or as high as 4000$... depending on how complete it is. I'd say around 3500$ for a complete swap would be faire.

wasting money getting the k20a - LSD, better gearing, higher compression pistons, better cams, better flowing intake mani/head/exhaust mani <----i don't think thats a waste of money at all
you can get the jdm k20a (R)for $4500 @ Rcrewracing.com - passwordjdm.com should be able to get them for a good price too. there was a guy on ebay selling a k20a2 (rsx-s) motor & tranny separately on ebay recently (total amount buy it now was around 3,000)

it all depends what you are planning in the future... if your gonna replace everything (cams, rebuild bottom end, reworked head, etc. etc. etc.) then just go for the K20A2 and save some money... If you want to keep the engine near stock, go for K20a
