Difference between EX and DX Civic???

its like the topic states whats the difference between the 2, motor wise and wich would be better for moding/tuning?

dx is your basic SOHC non-vtec, the ex is a SOHC vtec engine
correct me if i'm wrong the engine code on the dx is d16y7 and the ex y8

dx d15b7 9.2:1 compression,102hp,98 ft lbs of tq
ex d16z6 9.2:1 cp, 125hp 106lb tq
