Default 92-95 Civic DX vs EX

I'm trying to gather the differeces between the different models. I use to have a 92 civic hatchback si (w/ jdm b16 swap) but I want to start a new project with a 2dr coupe, I've personally always love the looks over the hatch.

Now off the top of my head this is what I know about the dx different than the ex:

DX:

Motor (of course)
Manual windows, mirrors
No Sunroof
Smaller Brakes (I Think)
No Tach
Lighter weight
a/c

Any others?

I'm trying to make a descision in getting the ex or the dx. My main goal off the bat isn't to mod it or swap it right away but eventually down the line. I just want to know the main difference between the two.

Default Re: 92-95 Civic DX vs EX (futuresi)

1993 had the ugly interior patterns and tan interio if the exterior was black.

Also 1993 all Civics were still driver's airbag only - 1994 started dual airbags.

As far as DX vs. EX, I'll try:

1992-1995 DX: 102hp D15B7 engine, manual windows, manual doorlocks, power steering on all, power steering on AUTO trannies, 13'' steelies

1993-1995 EX adds: 125hp D16Z6 engine, power windows, power doorlocks, power moonroof, power mirrors, cruise control, clock, tachometer, 14'' steelies with covers, Acoustic Research sound system with tweeters in the doors (1994-1995 only),

IMO it if will ever be a speed thing for you then get the DX. Stock vs. stock the Dx and Ex aren't too far apart because the hp loss the Dx has is made up by the weight difference. The Dx coupes aren't so bad stock, so you can drive it while you save up for a swap or a built D motor, or a boosted set-up, etc.

i've got to disagree with you on that.all 92-95 EX 4-doors and 93-95 EX 2-doors have the bigger,Integra size front brakes.i've confirmed several places that the 93 EX coupe has the same part number for the rotors as the 94-95.

also,to the original poster-it was nice to have all the power stuff when my EX coupe was still fairly mild.but, now that it's just a weekend driver(totally stripped)it was a real PITA removing all the power options to lose weight.wish i just had bought a DX in the first place.
if performance is the absolute most important objective,go with the DX.
also,as said above-the DX coupes are about as fast stock as the EXs just from the much lower weight.

My bad. I just called Honda and they confirmed that too.

I edited my post to correct that.

However there was no 1992 EX 2dr.

Only ABS-equipped EX coupes had rear discs.

Only the Si has discs on all 4.

oh got it, I have a dx and over the years all the ex's that my buddies had all had rear disk breaks. now that i think about it, they did have abs because changing axles, the one with abs is different then the non-abs....(done a few cv joints in their cars).....nothing like getting the wrong parts..from schucks

I took no offense to Chris correcting my info - I deserved it.

I don't think he was trying to be a dick about it.

That not too big of a difference, I could add the power windows and locks on the dx down the line if I wanted to, just nice to have it all there though... hummmmmm
