new clutch, flywheel...how much quicker in 1/4 ??
Hey guys. I see everyone talking about all kinda of clutches and flywheels. I purchased the ACT heavy duty clutch with the good street disk, the fidanza 7lb flywheel, and also had the shop put the motor mount inserts in. The mechanic says it will make a big difference and shave a few tenths off my quarter mile time. Will it really shave tenths off?? I cant just go to the track and test it cuz I gotta break in the clutch first
Please dont tell me it will rev faster, drop revs faster, and things like that. Just throw out some times. like: "Yeah dood it is guarenteed by Bob to drop your 60 foot times to 2 flat"
Cant wait to pick up my baby tomorrow!! In case you were wondering...the spring broke off the disk, and also a chuck of metal broke off and is stuck in the casing part. Weird. 74k miles.

The lighter flywheel really helps in autox more than drag. The clutch usually helps a lot but maybe your friend still had a good clutch or isnt used to the new one yet.
this probably isn't what you wanna hear, but i know someone that went from stock flywheel to 12 lbs and lost .15 s off they're 1/4.
however, that doesn't mean it wasn't worth it, everyone who has one raves about how fun they are to drive.
