Default Suspension

I want to lower my 97 Civic Coupe and would I be ok with just coilovers and aftermarket springs?

you typically choose between coilovers or springs. However if you are asking if you need shocks/struts, then the answer is "depends on how much you drop". If you go over 1.5" then you *should* get new shocks/struts as you risk blowing them and they will die prematurely. If you go over 2", then you definately should get new shocks/struts.

It also depends on how stiff your springs are.

well I want to be level i dont want one side of my car to be lowerd and the other part jacked up....I wanna lower it about 1.75" front and rear, so what would be the best way to go?

h&r sport springs with a decent set of shocks. koni yellows if they fit your budget. kyb agxs would be a good choice as well.

crap, hey from ur info ur from north carolina, and Im moving there soon, either to Charlotte or Gastiona, do u know where the hangout spots are for like ppl showing off there cars and stuff?

I would advise agains the pro-kits. I had them for just over a year and recently switched to the h&r sports. They H&R sports are better all around. Smoother ride and better handling. I used both with a set of koni yellows. Wrote a somewhat informal review here :
