Default y7/y8 mini me swap questions....

so me and my buddy tore the head off his d16y7 yesterday and are doing a mini me on it with a y8 head he picked up for $25 (including manifold, edu, head and 2 distributers.... good deal ) and today he went to port the head with a dremal and started to look for differences in sensors and such. 2 questions arose.

1) will we need a knock sensor?
2) the IAC valve on the y7 manifold is 3 wire and is oval shapped while the one on the y8 head is 2 wire and circular much like the map sensor or TPS sernsor, how do we get around this if we plan on using the y8 maninfold with the y7 harness.

thanks for any replys and sorry if this has been posted before but did a search and nothing relavant came up
