Default sohc d series question

I am running a d16z6 head block and intake manifold, my question lies in my piston choice.....I am looking at putting d15b7 pistons as they should up my compression to the 11:1 range. My question is this, does anyone know any reason not to do this, ie valve clearance and such. I plan on using the d16 rods which are 3 mm longer than the d15 rods and should put them at about the same level as far as valve clearance, but I haven't done this before and think it is a good idea to ask advice first...and before anyone says "swap it" or "turbo it" or "spray it" I would like to stay all motor for the moment and at the moment I am too poor to afford much. So, thanks in advance for any advice.

Isn't the D15b7 pistons from a DX motor? I'm not sure why you would want to swap out your EX pistons for DX pistons. U sure they raise the compression? If you do plan on building this motor then definitly check valve to piston clearances. Don't just say that they should work, confirm it first. Let us know how it goes.

well, all the info I have found on them says that they should raise compression, particularly considering that they are flat head pistons and the z6 stock pistons have a 3mm dish. Also, according to the info I have already gathered the d15b7 pistons are 61.76mm total height, and the z6 pistons are 60mm total height. So if I could find the stock valve clearance from the z6 pistons I should be able to figure how much I'm losing from that extra 1.76mm of piston height, not to mention I am concerned with valve clearance as I may eventually put in a cam which could increase lift. Of course like I said, I've never done this before and am open to advice from other people that have done it before.

its got some good info on using the PM3 pistons in a D16 block. if you dont want to read let me know and ill give you the summary of it.

Dont use the 1.5 non vtec pistons in your d16 block. The pistons would most likely sit out of the hole. This is due to the 3mm difference between d16 and d15 rods. The opposite happens using d16 pistons in a non vtec d15, the pistons sit too low in the hole.
