Important QUESTION? D15B Turbo question?
I have a JDM D15B SOHC VTEC with a D16Z6 head, stage2 high comp cam, shaved, ported and polished head, etc. Now Im gonna turbo it but I dont know where to begin. I know I have to get the low compression pistons, but my question is do I have to take my block to a machine shop to get the low compression pistons put in? And can I use the stock piston rods?
you can use the stock rods but i would HIGHLY recommend arp rodbolts/headstuds. you need to tell us what your looking for e.i. how much HP you want to have, daily/track car, quarter mile time??? just your goals so we can tell you the correct route to take ya know?
oh and you dont HAVE to get low comp pistons. im rocking completely stock motor on 8psi and its fine. ive seen people run 12psi on stock blocks but that pushin it, and how much psi you wanna run?
I just want about 160-200hp on 8psi... Something to drive daily for my 2 sons, but a sohc that has some nuts... I wanna make chevy and ford look bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a 1990 EF2 Sedan, I want to make it a daily driver, but also track capable
(11.00's - 13.00's) on the drag strip. 150-200whp, 130-170ftq. Also freeway capability to, cause I commute to Los Angeles CA maybe twice a month from Fontana CA which is 50 miles. What would be a good setup for my needs... Thanks for the help from all the people on "Honda-Tech."
