how can i tell which tranny i have.
i bought a 93 dx hatch with a d16y8, but im not real sure that the former owner put in the ex tranny as well. is there any way of telling which tranny i have? and i don't have a tach in the car, so i can't go by rpms to figure it out
L3 = 88-91
S20 = 92-95
S40 = 96-00
To TRUELY know if you have a small bearing case or a large bearing case, you must find the casting numbers near the oil fill plug.
96-00
P4A-A000 = small bearing case = DX/HX/LX etc.
P4A-B000 = large bearing case = EX
....Thanks to MistaBone for the info.
