i got a cel after installing my chipped p28
so my chip from kenji came today and i installed it and got a cell. i havent touched anything on the car before the ecu swap so i was guessing it might be the o2 sensor on the cat? since obd-1 doesnt read it.. is it tripping the cel. ? any help as to why a car would throw a cel right after obd-2-1 conversion would be nice. thanks.
edit: found out its cell 16 or so i think. i'm not to good at reading them. but long-pause-short-short-short-short-short-short is the only code repeating so i'm guessing 16. can the aggressive fuel maps of the program cause the cell for the fuel injection system??

thanks for the link. i'm checking the cell now. i didnt have any cells when i replaced the ecu so i don't see how it can have anything to do with any other part except for the ecu.. but i'll check the code and let you guys know. once again. thanks very much.
i didn't have this problem with my chipped p28. I'm also gonna say the chip is in there wrong. My buddy kept trying to put his chip in there backwards and when he would start the car it would immediately throw a cel and rev up above 2k rpms.

i'm guessing 01 and 16. that can not be right. i didnt have these codes when the obd-2 was hooked up.

hmmmm i don't think it would even let us check the cel when my friend's chip was in backwards so maybe you have another problem. Check to see what the codes mean.

i must have read the code 1 wrong because the only code repeating itself is the 16 and this can't be correct because my obd-2 computer never gave any cell at all. would the aggressive fuel maps throw a cell for the fuel injection system.???

Not sure man. But i do know that Kenjis ECU dumps A LOT more fuel than the stock one. Might want to try and clean out your fuel? Techron cleaner? else just contact Kenji and see what he says.

well i talked to kenji and this is odd.
Mike,
A code 16 is for the injectors. I had concerns with your ECU being a German ECU. It is throwing a code because the program that is in it has an injector check circuit. European ECUs don't have an injector check circuit. I will have to get a program that will run your European ECU. Please forgive me for this oversight on my part.

so my question is. the car should be fine to drive right? i mean basically the program is looking for the injector circuit but the ecu doesnt have one so thats why its throwing a cell and that means nothings wrong with it right??
