Question about oil pressure gauges.
(This is not about stock oil light, its about an aftermarket oil pressure gauge.)
One thing comes to mind is that oil pressure reflects how much oil you have..
But, lets say you happen to loose a quart of oil while driving. Will oil pressure show lower readings overall? In other words, if theres a steady leak, will I be able to notice before its too late?

the pressure will go down as the oil pump has less and less oil to pickup out of the oil pan. if you lose a tablespoon it won't show much, but if you lose a quart it will take a dive.
when im running like a quart low... my oil pressure bounces around at redline...
i have a custom oilpan...so it take 5.5 quarts...but im guessing when its that high rpms the oil pump starts to cavitate cause of the low oil....
but it only bounces about 10 psi....so 80psi normal...bounces down to 70psi...very rapidly too.so much to needle is a bluur...
