the jdm d15 is just like the weak-*** usdm d15. unless you are talking about the Jdm d15b which pushes out 130ps/128hp

The jdm D15b (sohc vtec) is just like the D16z6. It has the same P08 head, a more aggressive cam shaft and uses a d15z1 block. The pistons and rods are stronger then its counterpart USDM d15b7. It also has a better r/s ratio then the d16z6. IMO d15b is the way to go.

Okie since you guys are talking about JDM d15b and what not. I have a JDM d16b. It seems a lot stronger then my d15 that i had in before (from a cx hatch).

Does anyone know that hp and tq of it??

I've been always curious about it but no one really cared about a single non-vtec before so i had no one to ask...

i love my jdm d15b to death! remember, however, that this motor works best in a light chassis. it's in my eg hatch, and will do fine in yours also.

mods on mine include p28, i/h/e, ex/si tranny and clutch. its got adequate torque, and vtec really feels well with the agressive cam. these can be had for cheap, so dont try to spend too much.

its got power, especially for the price. currently, i feel as if i'm pulling a low 15 in the 1/4. with a little work, 14's are easy!

Ya that's what it says on my engine block d16b. It's way stronger then my d15 that I used to have. It's a direct bolt on but its non-vtec. It doesn't say vtec on the head atleast. I thought it might be a ZC but no one could confirm it. Someone told me that it wasn't a ZC cuz it didn't say it but i didn't really believe they knew what they were talking about.

I've had the engine for a year or so and its not doing to hot. Seals seems bad and oil is leaking into the spark plug area and I blow out blue smoke when i shift hard. My next install is going to be a h22a from japan.

Anymore info about a jdm d16b or ZC let me know...thanks

i really dunt think ur pulling 14s with just i/h/e and clutch on a sohcvtec all motor. because seriously b18bs barely crest 14s with the same type of mods.
unless u are like a pro driver. take it to the track and show me a timeslip first b4 i believe that

get over the fact that your new motor is way stronger then you old one its a fuckn CX. you could block the throttle body with a new borns hand.

never heard of a d16b ever. and as far as i know in japan they have carb'ed sohc, the d15b, and ZC.

A motor doesn't have to say 'vtec' to have it. I wana know what fuckn rule book every one looks in and reads this then kick the writer in the *****.

I've got a JDM D15B SOHC VTEC. However, some time ago, I was faced with the decision of trying to find all the VTEC-necessary equipment to make it live up to its full potential. My hatch is a 1993 CX, had a blown headgasket, so I ordered the D15B because I was on a tight budget, and swapped the US stuff over. So my D15B has no VTEC solenoid, the CX ECU, the CX tranny (long gears, hello). I am not going to even worry about getting the EX/SI tranny or ECU or VTEC solenoid because I just don't really care that much about the VTEC anyway right now. I've lived 20 years without it, I can live another six months. My plans include something larger and with more torque anyhow. My impression of my D15B is its quick, regardless of the CX parts hindering it radically. Its slow off the line but like all Honda motors, once it's moving that's when the fun begins. So if you want a JDM longblock for 600 shipped, its yours. You want something complete, find a D16Z6 swap for sale after somebody upgrades theirs.

EDIT: JonnyD, look for ECU's here in the Classifieds, or:

Dang, some of you guys on here just need some serious attitude adjustments. I'm only asking simple questions. If i knew the answers and where to find it I would of done that by now. But anyways, I'll see if I can get you guys a picture of my engine code so you can STFU!! Thanks for everything...

um... i doubt it, your not going to spool much w/ a 1.5.. no matter how much horsepower it has, no matter where its from, it's still a 1.5

get the d15b....better r/s ratio makes it good for boost...it's not a whole lot better than the z6 tho.
