Default magic h23 tranny??

ok, heres the scoop. when i did my h23 tranny swap, i bought a tranny from a local junkyard.

when going 60, my rpms are at 3k, 70=3.5k 80=4k ect. this is in 5th

my friend with an h22 swap, with h22 tranny cruises 90 at 4k. we did a comparison on the road with walkie-talkies, and at 60 in 5th he's at around 2600rpm.

we both have 205/55/r15 tires.. now i thought the h22 tranny had shorter gears thus his rpms should be higher.

this is something we have yet to figure out... any ideas??
another friend says the only way could be that i had the prospec 4.71 final drive in my tranny, which is a 1,260$ peice... so what are the odds that i picked a tranny with that up at a junkyard. can someone double check the math??

im clueless, just wondering if anyone else has ideas.

Read your tranny codes. that might help.

hey, ludey krus. im interested in your h23 block. what is it missing/what are you selling? i need a block, if its missing rods or pistons, i might throw some aftermarket stuff in there.

It's got holes all in it

That's why i'm parting out the block; the block itself is no good, so the internals and stuff bolted to the block are being sold off.

No problem, it ended up good for me. I finished building my H23 VTEC the night before last. Now all I gotta do is get it in the car and get everything hooked back up!

bump for colinK, no his friend he is refering too is my bestfriend.. i helpped with his setup.. his trany is the m2a4, and no its not the f22, i have an f22 and the gearing is far from mine. but yeah, it just doesn't explain why colink's trany is geared so high..
also, even on comparson to another h23a trany (m2s4) his is still very high.. ?? its got me stumped

according to that chart, no the h23a trany still has a longer 5th gear.. look again
